The route has been carefully planned to assure safety while maximizing scenic beauty. Starting at Ormond Beach on the east coast we head west on some of Florida’s most beautiful, scenic, and safe back roads. We complete the ride on the west coast at the Gulf of Mexico. The total mileage is approximately 200 miles, spread out over one full day and two half days of riding. You’ll see parts of Florida you have never seen before.
- The first day takes us from Ormond beach through Deland with a stop to cool off at the famous Ponce de Leon Spring. We’ll stay in a motel and go out to eat together.
- The second day we leave the Deland/Stanford area heading west across the state. We’ll take a break in scenic Mt. Dora and stop for lunch at Hickory Park prior to riding through Howey in the Hills and Center Hill en-route to Ridge Manor, FL. We’ll stay in a motel and go out to eat together.
- The final day takes us due west out of Ridge Manor to Brooksville and then we ride south on the Suncoast Parkway bike trail. We’ll depart the trail and head west toward Tarpon Springs. We’ll finish riding at the Gulf of Mexico.
- Each year, slight modifications are made to the route to ensure safety and efficiency of the ride.
